If something here lands, you're in the right place.

None of this means anything is wrong with you. It means you're a person, and being one is hard sometimes. Whatever you're working through, we've sat with people working through it too.

Why InnerSight exists

A clinic built from lived experience.

InnerSight Psychotherapy was founded by Svetlana Antonyshyn after the devastating loss of her young son. That personal tragedy became a catalyst for a mission: to help others navigate pain and build lives worth living.

In her work, Svetlana saw two gaps in the mental health system. Family doctors hesitated to refer patients because of quality of care concerns. And clients who wanted healing without medication felt trapped in systems focused on pathology and diagnosis. InnerSight was built to solve both.

Our promise is simple. Everyone feels seen, heard, and understood, and transformation isn't just a promise. It's a lived journey.

Cost is the most common reason people stall on booking. We don't want it to be the reason you don't get help. Most extended health plans in Ontario reimburse psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist.

I came in convinced I'd be the worst case they'd ever seen. By the end of the first session I was laughing. Two years later, I still go.

They matched my partner and me with someone who didn't take sides, just helped us hear each other. We're still together. That sentence used to feel impossible.

Questions real people ask before they call.

Plain answers to the things you'd rather not have to ask out loud.

How do I know if I actually need therapy?+
If you're asking, that's usually enough of a reason. You don't need a diagnosis. You don't need a crisis. Therapy is not just for crisis, it's for growth. You're allowed to come in because something's been heavy and you'd like to put it down for a bit.
What if I don't click with my therapist?+
Tell us, by email, through your portal, or to the therapist themselves. We'll switch you, transfer your records with your consent, and you don't have to explain yourself. The match matters more than the method.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person?+
For most concerns, yes. Decades of research support online psychotherapy as equally effective for anxiety, depression, and most common challenges. Some modalities like EMDR or play therapy with kids work better in person, and your therapist will say so up front.
Will I have to talk about my childhood?+
Only if you want to. You're in charge of the room. A good therapist will follow what's useful. Sometimes that's your week, sometimes that's your family of origin, often neither.
How long does therapy take?+
Honest answer: it varies. Some people come for 6 sessions to work through a specific thing. Others stay months or years. You decide as you go. There's no contract.
Is what I say really private?+
Yes. We're bound by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). The only exceptions are if you tell us you're about to hurt yourself or someone else, abuse of a minor or dependent adult, or a court subpoena.
What's the difference between a psychotherapist, psychologist, and psychiatrist?+
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can prescribe. A psychologist holds a doctorate and can diagnose. A Registered Psychotherapist (RP), like us, is regulated by the CRPO and trained specifically in talk therapy. No medication, no diagnostic labels needed to begin. Most people doing weekly therapy work with an RP.
Do I need a referral?+
No. Psychotherapy in Ontario doesn't require a doctor's referral. You can book a free 20-minute consultation directly with us.

InnerSight Psychotherapy is a clinic of 25+ Registered Psychotherapists (RPs) regulated by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). We've practiced in Vaughan since 2009, with locations in Woodbridge and Barrie, and we see clients online across all of Ontario.

We offer individual therapy, couples counselling, family therapy, child and youth therapy, and group programs. Our therapists are trained in CBT (Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy), EMDR for trauma and PTSD, IFS (Internal Family Systems), DBT, EFT for couples, Imago Relational Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Gestalt, Hypnotherapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.

Most clients come to us for anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, addictions, grief, or life transitions. Psychotherapy is not covered by OHIP, but most extended health insurance plans in Ontario reimburse sessions with a Registered Psychotherapist. We also offer reduced-fee therapy on a sliding scale for clients without coverage.

You do not need a referral. Start with a free 20-minute consultation, phone or video, and we'll match you with a therapist whose training and style fit what you're working through.
