Meet Liza
You may be anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or caught in patterns you cannot quite explain. There may be a difficult relationship, a major life transition, or a sense that the same challenge keeps coming up. Whatever brings you here, you do not have to figure it out alone.
I work with individuals (16+) and couples who want to understand themselves better while making change that lasts. Therapy is about more than reducing symptoms. It’s about seeing the fuller picture behind them: the histories, relationships, and patterns that have shaped who you are. We’ll trace those threads together, and build practical skills for handling ordinary days with more confidence, clarity, and emotional balance.
You don’t need to edit yourself here.
My approach
My approach is thoughtful and collaborative, and it follows what you bring. Insight matters to me, but so does knowing what to do with it.
As a Student Therapist completing my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, I work under the clinical supervision of experienced Registered Psychotherapists and Clinical Supervisors at InnerSight Psychotherapy, so the work we do is backed by an experienced clinical team and current evidence-based practice.
I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Motivational Interviewing.
My background
In my previous career as a journalist, I focused on conducting in-depth interviews for memoirs. That work taught me how to listen thoughtfully, ask good questions, and be curious about how people make sense of their lives. Before that, I studied cognitive science and philosophy of mind, an early sign of where my curiosity was heading.
I’ve also volunteered extensively in hoarding support, community outreach, and psychosocial care for people with advanced cancer.
A little about me
“I am human, and nothing that is human is alien to me.”
Terence
Outside the therapy room, I love cooking, writing, reading fantasy, being outdoors, watching movies (especially spooky ones), and spending as much time as I can with my loved ones, including my Labrador Retriever mix, August. My curiosity about how people work doesn’t really clock out. Don’t ask how many books about the mind are currently on my nightstand. But I make sure life outside work gets just as much of my attention.
