Privacy policy

Last updated: July 2026. This page explains, in general terms, how InnerSight Psychotherapy Inc. handles your personal information. It is provided for transparency and is not legal advice. If you have questions, please contact us.

Our commitment to your privacy

InnerSight Psychotherapy Inc. ("InnerSight", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of everyone who contacts us or receives our services. As a clinic of Registered Psychotherapists regulated by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), we handle personal and personal health information in accordance with Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and other applicable privacy legislation.

Information we collect

We collect only the information we need to provide safe, effective care and to operate our practice. This may include your name and contact details, the information you share when you book a consultation or complete an intake form, the personal and health information discussed during therapy, and billing or insurance details where relevant. If you contact us through our website, we may also collect the information you choose to provide in a form or message.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide and coordinate your therapy, to schedule and confirm appointments, to process payments and insurance receipts, to communicate with you, and to meet our professional, legal and regulatory obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to your care without your consent.

Confidentiality and when we may share information

Your sessions are confidential. We do not disclose your personal health information to anyone outside your circle of care without your consent, except in the limited circumstances where the law requires or permits it, such as a serious risk of harm to you or another person, a reasonable suspicion that a child is in need of protection, a court order or subpoena, or a regulatory review. Where we work with third-party service providers (for example, secure booking, communication or payment tools), we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is protected.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative, physical and technical safeguards to protect your information against loss, theft and unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Records are retained and securely disposed of in accordance with CRPO standards and applicable law.

Our website: cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. These are small files and identifiers stored by your browser. Some are needed to make the site work, for example to keep a page or a form behaving properly as you move through it. Others help us understand how the site is used and how people find us, so that we can improve it and reach the people who are looking for support.

We use Google Tag Manager to load our measurement and advertising tools. Those tools currently include Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion tracking, Microsoft Clarity, the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel, and an OpenAI advertising pixel. These are third-party services. When they are active they may set their own cookies and receive information about your visit, which can include your IP address and approximate location, your device and browser, the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, and how you interact with a page. With some of these tools that also includes a recording of on-page activity such as clicks and scrolling. Each provider handles that information under its own privacy policy, which you are welcome to read.

These website tools are separate from your clinical record. What you discuss in therapy is not shared with analytics or advertising providers. Information you deliberately send us through a form on this site, such as your name and contact details, comes to us and is handled as described elsewhere in this policy.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you see which cookies are stored, delete them, block third-party cookies, or browse in a private window. Blocking cookies may change how some parts of the site behave. It will not affect your ability to call us, email us or book an appointment.

Newsletter and free guides

If you sign up for our newsletter or request one of our free guides, your email address is stored in Mailchimp, the email service we use to send those messages. We use it to send you the occasional article or resource, and nothing else. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send, or by emailing us and asking to be taken off the list. Joining the mailing list does not make you a client and does not create a therapy record.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access or correct your personal information, ask questions about how it is handled, or withdraw your consent (subject to legal and professional limits) at any time. To make a request, please contact us using the details below.
